Perry County Burn Ban Removed 08/28/2025

Perry County removed the Burn Ban thanks to a little rain. It might be more than a “little”. Definitely need the wet stuff for all of Arkansas right now after a really dry summer. About those leaf piles you were saving up for a better day? Smok’em if you got’em. Good luck getting them to light. Thanks for waiting for better weather.

Burn Ban for Perry County

Perry County has enacted their Burn Ban.

No burning in Perry County. We repeat …….No. Burning. In. Perry. County.

Everyone stay safe, even if your county does not yet have a Burn Ban. It is not safe to burn stuff anywhere right now.

Fire Danger Increasting

Wildfire danger continues to increase across the state. Some places got some thunder today but did not necessarily get significant rain.

If you can do a rain dance, please start dancing.

Arc and Spark Training

We had a great training night when Entergy Arkansas spent some quality time with us for Arc & Spark training. They covered high-voltage electrical exposures for this evenings Hazardous Materials training. Each month we get all of our stations together for multi-company training to hone our skills on valuable topics just like this.

We all know that storms bring down trees and powerlines. Cars and trucks do that stuff, also! So when the powerlines hit the ground, cross roadways, or get too close to home (houses) on structure fires and , we want to know this stuff. Getting exposure to a safe training environment, understanding the equipment and tools, viewing procedures, and seeing safe practices will help keep us protected around high-voltage powerlines when it is time for us to go to work.

Thanks to Entergy Arkansas for making time to spend with first responders like us to get this valuable chance to learn more!
