We had a great training night when Entergy Arkansas spent some quality time with us for Arc & Spark training. They covered high-voltage electrical exposures for this evenings Hazardous Materials training. Each month we get all of our stations together for multi-company training to hone our skills on valuable topics just like this.
We all know that storms bring down trees and powerlines. Cars and trucks do that stuff, also! So when the powerlines hit the ground, cross roadways, or get too close to home (houses) on structure fires and , we want to know this stuff. Getting exposure to a safe training environment, understanding the equipment and tools, viewing procedures, and seeing safe practices will help keep us protected around high-voltage powerlines when it is time for us to go to work.
Thanks to Entergy Arkansas for making time to spend with first responders like us to get this valuable chance to learn more!
