Portable Electric Heaters are small and convenient but are only safe when operated properly. They use a lot of electricity to produce heat and can cause fire or burns when placed too close to flammables like clothing, blankets and furniture. Be sure to only use devices with safety sensor that will shut off the unit if it knocked over. Also ensure devices are only plugged directly into a wall outlet. Never use an extension cord or circuit strip as these extension devices cannot handle the constant high amperage load. As always, keep heating devices away from children and pets to prevent burns.
