West Pulaski Fire trained this weekend with our Fireboat 1 at Lake Degray in Arkansas’ Fire Boat School with other state fire departments and state agencies to hone our skills and effectiveness on the water. WPFD has a few water areas in our fire district, Lake Maumelle in the central/northwest part of our district, and the Arkansas and Little Maumelle rivers on our northeast boundary. Folks are always on the water either for recreation or living in houseboats, we then get the call for emergencies and each year we ensure we are ready to respond with our Fireboat 1 on the rivers or our more recent addition of Fireboat 2 planned for Lake Maumelle. Our folks had a great time learning skills and team training on the water with fire and rescue drills. It was a great opportunity!
